Ward was born in MonroeLouisiana, on April 15,1976. Ward was a student at Monroe Christian School, a Christian private elementary school. She was a student at Ouachita High School to pursue her secondary education. She then transferred to River Oaks High School after the school year ended. Following her graduation, she attended Northeast Louisiana University. Ward quit school at thirteen and relocated in New York so that she could begin modeling. After a few years, she also decided to try acting. She was first cast uncredited in the late 1970s for the soap-opera All My Children. Later she was a part of the NBC's prime-time drama for teens, Malibu Shores. She landed the role of Meg Cummings, a virgin at Sunset Beach in 1996. In 1999she began to pursue a movie career starring as The psychological Brittany Foster in the erotic film The In Crowd. In theaters the film was unsuccessful, however it enjoyed some success in the cable market and on DVD. The following year Ward played a supporting role in the hit movie Shallow Hal.
